Beginning my Journey as a Self-Published Author - My First Blog Post

Hello! As I begin my author journey, I thought that it would be fun to document my thoughts, process, and progress in a blog.

So far, I have started five other drafts of various plots and genres before finally settling where I am now. A remix/ reimagining/ retelling (I'm still not sure what exactly to call it) of the Frog Prince. This is a story that I absolutely loved when I was growing up.

Before Disney's Princess and The Frog— although I love that movie— I would watch a little show called Adventured from the Books of Virtues. I have never encountered anyone other than my sisters who has watched this show, but it was one of my favorites when I was young. Their version of the Frog Prince was one of my favorites in that show. I watched it over and over again and probably wore that poor VHS down.

I was recently reminiscing about The Frog Prince and thought; what if it had a different outcome after the Prince is transformed? (I'm being vague to avoid spoiling my own book) The plot evolved from there and honestly, 16k words in, it is barely recognizable as the original fairytale. The inspiration is definitely still there, but it is becoming something all its own.

I have been having so much fun bringing my characters to life and I hope you'll follow along in my writing journey and, when the time comes, even read this little book of mine.
